Delhi Metro proposed to launch the Violet Line in 2010. DMRC announced the launching of a rapid transit system in Delhi that was named a Heritage line between ITO to Kashmere Gate. The line was inaugurated on October 03, 2010, and covered a total distance of 47 KM with a total of 34 metro stations.
Delhi Metro Violet Line covered the major localities of South Delhi, Central Delhi and Faridabad. In 2011, the violet line was extended to Badarpur Metro stations. As per the rule, the minimum fare for Delhi Metro Violet Line Metro is Rs 10 and the maximum fare for Delhi Metro Violet Line Metro is Rs 50. The first train starts at 04.30 am and the last metro operated at 11 pm. The frequency of one metro train is in every four to five minutes.
